General

Magic Metals is a full-service precision sheet metal fabrication company based in Union Gap, Washington. We provide laser cutting, forming, welding, CNC machining, powder coating, assembly, and engineering services for customers across the Pacific Northwest and nationwide.

Magic Metals was founded in 1985 and has been family-owned and operated for over 40 years. What started as a small shop has grown into a 200,000 sq ft facility with more than 150 team members.

We serve more than 10 industries including semiconductor equipment, data centers, construction, agriculture and robotics, pharmaceutical, packaging and food processing, transportation, military and defense, marine equipment, and telecommunications.

Our 200,000 sq ft manufacturing facility is located at 3401 Bay Street in Union Gap, Washington, in the heart of the Yakima Valley. We serve customers throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and ship nationally.

We are frequently hiring skilled fabricators, welders, machine operators, and support staff. Visit our Careers page for current openings, or contact us directly to inquire about opportunities.

Services and Capabilities

We work with carbon steel, stainless steel (including RA10 mirror finish), aluminum, copper, brass, titanium, and specialty alloys. If you have a specific material requirement, contact us and we will confirm whether we can source and fabricate it.

We operate multiple fiber lasers up to 20,000 watts, capable of cutting carbon steel up to 1.25" thick, stainless steel up to 1" thick, and aluminum up to 0.75" thick. Our tube laser handles round, square, and rectangular tube profiles up to 9" diameter.

Yes. We offer MIG, TIG, spot welding, stud welding, and robotic welding. Our certified welders work with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and specialty alloys. We hold AWS D1.1 structural steel and D1.2 aluminum welding certifications.

Class A powder coating is the highest cosmetic standard for powder-coated finishes, required by semiconductor equipment manufacturers like Applied Materials and Lam Research. Only a handful of fabricators in the Pacific Northwest are approved for this level of finish quality, and Magic Metals is one of them.

Absolutely. We regularly manage production runs ranging from dozens to tens of thousands of parts per month. Our 200,000 sq ft facility, automated equipment, and 150+ team members give us the capacity to handle high-volume work while maintaining quality and delivery schedules.

Yes. We design and fabricate custom NEMA-rated enclosures (types 1, 3R, 4, 4X, and 12) and are UL Listed for these products. We can build enclosures to your specifications or help engineer a solution from scratch.

Engineering and Prototyping

Yes. Our in-house engineering team provides Design for Manufacturability (DFM) review, CAD/CAM support, 3D modeling, and prototype development. We can help optimize your designs to reduce costs, improve quality, and accelerate time to production.

We accept most standard engineering file formats including PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP, STP, IGES, IGS, and SolidWorks native files. If you have drawings in another format, send them over and we will work with you.

Depending on complexity, we can turn around prototypes in as little as a few days. Our vertically integrated facility means we handle cutting, forming, welding, machining, and finishing all under one roof, which eliminates delays from outsourcing.

This is one of our core strengths. Many of our largest accounts started as prototype projects. Our engineering team works with you to optimize the design for volume manufacturing, then we scale seamlessly into production with dedicated project management and quality controls.

Quality and Certifications

We are ISO 9001:2015 certified, UL Listed for NEMA enclosures (types 1, 3R, 4, 4X, 12), RoHS Compliant, and hold AWS welding certifications. We are also one of the approved Class A powder coating facilities for major semiconductor OEMs.

Every project follows our documented quality management system. This includes incoming material inspection, in-process checkpoints, final inspection with CMM and optical measurement tools, and full traceability. We provide Certificates of Conformance and material test reports as needed.

Yes. We maintain full material traceability from raw stock through finished product for customers who require it, including those in semiconductor, defense, pharmaceutical, and other regulated industries.

Standard sheet metal tolerances are +/- 0.010" for laser cutting and +/- 0.015" for forming. With CNC machining, we hold tolerances as tight as +/- 0.005". Tighter tolerances are available depending on the process and material. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

Quoting and Lead Times

You can request a quote through our Contact page, by emailing drawings to sales@magicmetals.com, or by calling us at 509-453-1690. Upload your drawings with quantity, material, and finish requirements, and our team will respond with a detailed quote, typically within 48 hours.

Lead times vary by project complexity and current capacity. Prototypes can often ship within days. Standard production runs are typically 2 to 6 weeks. We provide specific timelines with every quote and can often accommodate rush orders.

No. We handle everything from single prototypes to multi-thousand piece production runs. There is no minimum order quantity, though pricing per unit naturally improves at higher volumes.

Yes, we frequently accommodate rush and expedited orders. Contact us with your timeline requirements and we will do our best to make it work. Rush fees may apply depending on the scope and current shop loading.

Shipping and Delivery

Yes. We operate our own fleet of 11 vehicles, including 48ft curtain-side trailers. We deliver throughout the Pacific Northwest within a 4 to 8 hour radius of our Union Gap facility, covering Seattle, Portland, Boise, and surrounding areas. National shipping via common carrier is also available.

Yes. While we specialize in PNW delivery with our own fleet, we ship nationwide using common carriers and freight services. We have experience with crating, palletizing, and custom packaging for safe long-distance transport of finished metal products.

Packaging depends on the product and finish requirements. We offer custom foam inserts, VCI paper for corrosion protection, surface protection film, wooden crating, and palletizing. For Class A coated parts, we use specialized packaging to prevent scratching during transit.
